Visit to the Lifeboat station

The Reception children went on their first school trip to visit Shoreham Lifeboat Station.

This was part of their ‘People who Help Us’ topic to find out about our local community. The children were excited to leave school and travel by minibus to the lifeboat station. Once there, they saw the crew’s kit and helmets. They found out about the onshore and offshore lifeboats and saw where the lifeboats launch. They asked lots of questions such as ‘how fast can it go?’ or ‘why do you wear helmets?’ The children had a lovely afternoon on their trip!
